New Flux release “Hyponormal/Hypernormal” now available on Bandcamp. This one encompasses the titular two part piece I had thrown together a few months back, one of half of which expands upon the Nouveau Shamanic Nu Age elements I introduced on Saeculum II, the other half being more traditional Flux style avant slop-wank. Additionally threw on a more experimental smooth noize/No Wave oriented track and a remix of Fourth World Problems donated generously by @default_standard who will be co-signing this release as they did with Saeculum II.

As you guys already know I will be performing live as Flux for the first time at @outlanderartgallery on Sunday at 3 as part of New Music Explorer. Threw this together as essentially a celebration of my finally being emancipated from bedroom project status induced first by Covid, then by own social ineptitude and Fluxs’ lack of even marginal marketability. But I am seriously proud of this set of tunes and felt it necessary to drop em to mark the this transition in this projects life cycle.

On a rare genuinely sentimental note from me I dedicated this release to my dog Hugo who unfortunately had to be put down a few weeks ago. He was nearly 16 years old so he lived a good long life rest assured. He also definitely wouldn’t have liked this music - like pretty much all dogs loud noises weren’t really his thing so he tended to hide when I would play electric guitar. But on a run not quite a week later seeing what are likely busts of some of his Shih Tzu ancestors, I knew I had to make that the album art. It was meant to be clearly. Also it just looks esoteric and cool.
